Die for My Bitch Review
2019Album
A teenager with a broken clock for a sense of rhythm, and almost all of it lands.

What is striking is how fully formed the weirdness already is. He raps against the beat rather than on it, starting phrases in the wrong place and cutting them off early, and instead of sounding like a mistake it produces a permanent low level tension that keeps every song interesting. Orange Soda is the one everybody found, a bouncing beat and a hook made of a nonsense phrase repeated until it becomes a hook.
Hooligan has genuine swagger. France Freestyle and Invented It show the range. The production is deliberately thin, bright synths and drums with no reverb, which suits a voice that is still light and boyish. Not everything works and a couple of tracks are clearly experiments left in. But for a project made by a teenager with no budget it is unusually confident, and it explains why the more famous people in his family let him keep going.
