Demons Protected by Angels Review
2022Album
Twenty two tracks and over an hour, which is a punishing amount of a very small idea.

There is no development to report, which after five albums is itself the story. The production is competent modern trap with a few interesting textures buried in it, and it is stretched across sixty four minutes with no arc, no variation in tempo and no attempt to structure the sequence. Never Sleep has three names on it and it is the only track anyone remembers, because the guests bring the energy the record otherwise lacks entirely.
Interstellar and Wrong Decisions are passable. The rest passes without contact. The writing has now been identical for six years, the same monotone list of purchases and grievances, and the persona built around being unbothered has become indistinguishable from being uninterested. He remains a good producer and an entirely unnecessary rapper. Judged as an album this is the least eventful hour in a catalogue that specialises in uneventful hours.
