2025RAV4 HybridCar
Forty miles per gallon, all wheel drive as standard, and the strongest used values of anything in this file.

There is a reason this is the best selling vehicle in America that is not a pickup. The hybrid system pairs a 2.5 litre four with electric motors including one driving the rear axle, so all wheel drive comes without a driveshaft, economy sits around forty miles per gallon in mixed use, and the electric assist makes it noticeably quicker off the line than the non hybrid. The boot is a good size, the rear seat is comfortable, and Toyota kept physical climate switches.
It is not a pleasant thing to drive hard. The ride is busy on rough surfaces, the engine bellows when you ask for everything, and the interior is a mass of hard grey plastic arranged without much care. The styling is chunky rather than handsome. All of that is beside the point once you look at the ownership numbers, which are the best here: repair frequency near the bottom of the industry, service costs that any independent garage can handle, and residual values so strong that a three year old car often costs more than a new rival. Boring, and correct.
