Tesla Model Y Long Range Review
2025Model Y Long RangeCar
The best selling car on earth got quieter and better damped, and it is still not as good as the Model 3 it is based on.

Tesla applied the Highland playbook to its volume product and the result is the same set of improvements. The suspension is retuned and the crashing over expansion joints that defined earlier cars is gone. Acoustic glass drops the road noise noticeably. The seats are better and there is a rear screen for the children. It remains a Model 3 with a taller roof, which means a genuinely useful boot with a deep well under the floor, a frunk, and a folding second row that turns it into a small van.
It also means more weight, more frontal area and 327 miles where the saloon manages 341. Build quality is the weak point and always has been, with panel gaps, trim rattles and suspension components that wear faster than they should. Tesla's own price cuts and the constant stream of newer, cheaper versions have made this a poor car to buy new and an excellent one to buy at two years old. The software is still the reason people put up with the rest.
