Still the efficiency benchmark, and the Highland update finally fixed the ride without touching what worked.

The Highland update is the rare mid-life refresh that addressed the actual complaints. The ride is softer and better damped, the cabin is markedly quieter at motorway speed, the seats are ventilated and rear passengers get their own screen. What did not change is the thing that made the Model 3 matter: 341 miles of EPA range from a 79 kilowatt hour pack, which is efficiency nobody else in this price bracket can match, and access to a charging network that still works when the others do not.
The software remains the best in the industry for navigation, route planning and simply doing what you asked it to do. The costs are real. Tesla deleted the indicator stalk and moved the signals to steering wheel buttons that you will fumble at every roundabout for a month. Interior plastics below the beltline are ordinary. Resale was savaged by Tesla's own repeated price cutting, which is why the depreciation grade sits where it does even though this remains the best value car in the range.
