The best riding, best furnished pickup in America, from a company whose durability record you have to price in.

Two things about the Ram are not in dispute. It rides better than any competitor, because the rear axle sits on coil springs rather than leaf springs and the optional air suspension turns broken pavement into a rumor, and the cabin is the nicest place to sit in a full size truck by a wide margin, with material quality and a screen layout that shame vehicles costing more.
A long day in a loaded Ram is genuinely restful in a way the Ford and the Chevrolet are not. The change this year is under the hood, where the Hurricane twin turbo inline six replaces the Hemi V8 in two states of tune. It is quicker, smoother and thriftier than the engine it succeeds, it sounds better than a turbocharged six has any right to, and the higher output version moves two and a half tons of truck with genuine urgency.
Where the card falls away is ownership. Stellantis sits at the bottom of the major durability surveys year after year, the Hurricane is far too new for anyone to make promises about, repairs outside warranty run expensive, and resale trails Ford and Toyota because the incentives on the hood never stop. Those are not footnotes on something you plan to keep for a decade. Lease it, love it, and read the warranty twice.
