McLaren's engineering remains extraordinary and its business remains fragile, and buying one means accepting both. The 750S refines the 720S with 740 horsepower from the 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8, a lighter kerb weight than anything comparable, and the hydraulically interlinked suspension that dispenses with anti-roll bars and delivers a ride quality no other supercar matches while cornering harder than almost all of them.
The carbon tub is standard, the visibility is the best in the class, and the steering is still hydraulically assisted, which explains a great deal. The interior is functional rather than luxurious and the infotainment has been a weak point across the whole range. Reliability reports are patchy, with electrical and software faults common enough to be a pattern. Servicing is expensive and specialists are few. Depreciation is the real horror, with cars regularly losing half their value in three years. Buy one used from someone else's loss and it is unbeatable.
