Lexus RX 450h+ (2025) Review
2025RX 450h+Car
The plug-in RX is the rarest thing in this catalogue: a luxury SUV with no axis you have to apologise for.

Almost every luxury SUV here trades something expensive for something showy, and this one refuses to. The plug-in drivetrain covers most people's daily driving on electricity and then becomes an ordinary Toyota hybrid, which is the most thoroughly proven powertrain in the industry and the reason reliability and running costs are not the gamble they are two rows up the price list. The cabin is genuinely the best in the class for material quality and, more importantly, for how little it asks of you: Lexus reversed course on the touchpad and the current system has real knobs for temperature and volume, which sounds trivial until you drive its German rivals.
Resale is strong in a segment where it usually is not. The honest weakness is the engine as an experience. It is smooth, quiet, adequate and completely uninvolving, and the four-cylinder sounds strained when you actually ask it for everything. Nobody buys this car to hear it. Everything else it does is close to unimprovable at the money.
