Lamborghini Revuelto Review
2024RevueltoCar
A naturally aspirated V12 kept alive by three electric motors, which is a paradox that works.

The Revuelto exists to keep the twelve-cylinder engine legal, and the solution is glorious. The new 6.5 litre V12 is naturally aspirated, revs to 9,500rpm and sits longitudinally behind the cabin with the gearbox mounted transversely behind it, which is the reverse of the old Aventador layout and frees space for a battery in the tunnel. Three electric motors, two on the front axle and one in the gearbox, take the total to 1,001 horsepower and add torque vectoring and a few miles of silent running.
It looks like nothing else on the road, with a shape that stops traffic in a way even other supercars do not. The costs match. Fuel consumption when the battery is empty is dreadful, tyres are enormous, and a service on a hybrid V12 with carbon ceramics is an event you budget for annually rather than absorb. Complexity has multiplied. But this engine will not exist for much longer, and that is worth something.
