2024Grand CherokeeCar
A luxury cabin and real off road hardware, attached to the worst ownership record of any mainstream three row.

Jeep built the nicest interior it has ever produced for this car. The Summit Reserve trim uses quilted leather, real open pore wood and a passenger side display, and it feels more expensive inside than a GLC costing considerably more. The off road hardware is not decorative either, with a proper two speed transfer case, a locking rear differential on the Trailhawk and air suspension that lifts the body clear of obstacles that stop every crossover rival. On road the air sprung cars ride beautifully.
Then the ownership file opens. This generation has carried a long and persistent recall list covering electrical faults, software and steering components, owner reported problem rates sit near the bottom of the industry, and the 3.6 litre V6 returns economy in the low twenties while asking for regular attention. Out of warranty repairs on the air suspension and electronics are expensive. Worst of all is the depreciation, which is among the steepest in this entire file, with values falling roughly by half in three years. Buy used, with warranty cover, and enjoy an unusually pleasant car for very little money.
