The Ioniq 9 is Hyundai's first three-row electric SUV, a large family hauler that went on sale as a 2026 model from about $58,955 and tops out near $79,000 in Calligraphy trim. Every version uses a 110.3 kWh battery, with rear-drive single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel-drive options. Range reaches up to 335 miles on the base car, and the quickest dual-motor trim hits 60 mph in about 5.2 seconds.

Inside is where it earns its money. The cabin is genuinely spacious across all three rows, quiet at speed, and built to a standard that shames the price. Hyundai kept real buttons for the climate system, the infotainment is quick and logical, and the 800 volt E-GMP platform allows fast 10 to 80 percent charging when you find a capable charger.

It is not perfect. The rounded, aero-led exterior will divide opinion, the base single-motor car is merely adequate rather than quick, and like most electric SUVs it will shed value faster than a comparable gas Palisade. It is also big, which you feel in tight parking.

If you want a three-row EV that behaves like a mature luxury product without a luxury badge, this is one of the best going. Cross-shop it directly against its Kia EV9 cousin and decide on styling and price.
