2023Ioniq 6Car
The most aerodynamically efficient car Hyundai has built, and the boot and the rear headroom paid for it.

Hyundai took the same 800 volt hardware as the Ioniq 5 and wrapped it in a shape with a drag coefficient of 0.22, lower than almost anything else sold. The result is 361 miles from a 77.4 kilowatt hour battery, an efficiency figure only Lucid and Tesla beat, and it charges just as quickly as its sibling. On a motorway it is exceptionally quiet and exceptionally frugal, which is exactly what the shape was drawn for.
The cost is everything a fastback costs. The boot opening is a letterbox rather than a hatch, rear headroom is tight for anyone approaching six feet, and the rear window is a slot. The styling divides people sharply and the market voted with slow sales and heavy discounting, which has been brutal for values. The same charging control unit failures that affected the Ioniq 5 apply here. As a long distance commuter's tool it is close to unbeatable. As the family car of the pair it is the wrong choice.
