Honda Civic (2025) Review
2025CivicCar
A compact car with a genuinely good interior, a chassis that flatters you, and a hybrid option that makes the turbo look silly.

The eleventh generation Civic fixed the thing that ruined the tenth, which was the interior. The dashboard is low and flat, the honeycomb strip conceals the vents, the materials feel a class above the price, and Honda kept a volume knob and separate climate dials while everyone else buried theirs in a screen. Visibility out of the low cowl is excellent. The chassis is the other gift. It is not fast in base 2.0 litre form, and the continuously variable transmission drains the last of the drama out of it, but the steering is honest and the body control makes an ordinary road feel worth taking.
The 2025 hybrid is the trim that matters, adding 200 horsepower of two motor drive and high forties economy for a modest premium, and it makes the 1.5 turbo hard to justify. Ownership is straightforward: strong reliability records, cheap parts, insurance that does not punish you, and resale that stays among the best in the class. The knocks are the flat engine note, road noise on coarse surfaces, and back seat space that trails the Corolla. Small complaints against a car that is right about almost everything.
