Genesis GV70 (2025) Review
2025GV70 2.5TCar
The nicest interior in the compact luxury class, and the fastest depreciation curve to go with it.

Genesis stopped imitating and started competing with this car. The interior is the segment's best, with a wide oval theme, genuinely knurled metal controls, quilted leather and switchgear that damps like something from Stuttgart, and the equipment list is close to complete before you open the options book. Heated and ventilated seats, a head up display, a strong Lexicon audio system and a full driver assistance suite come as standard on trims where German rivals charge for each.
The 2.5 litre turbo four makes 300 horsepower with real urgency, the chassis is firm and composed, and the ride on the adaptive dampers is well judged. Rear space and boot volume are competitive. Two things count against it. Fuel economy from either engine is poor for a compact crossover, and resale is the worst in this class by a wide margin, so the first owner absorbs a very large loss. That same weakness makes a two year old GV70 one of the outstanding buys in the whole file, and Hyundai group service costs keep it cheap to run.
