Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Review
2024Mustang Mach-E GTCar
A genuinely quick, genuinely enjoyable electric crossover let down by a cabin that keeps reminding you what it cost.

Set aside the argument about the name, which was always the least interesting thing about this car. The GT is quick in a way that surprises people, with 480 horsepower and 700 pound feet arriving instantly, and the Performance Edition's adaptive dampers give it real body control on a bad back road. Ford's steering has more feel through it than most electric crossovers manage. The infotainment is quick and legible and Ford wisely kept a physical volume dial embedded in the screen.
The problems start with material quality, because at this price the door cards and lower dash are hard, hollow plastic, and the door release buttons in place of handles solve a problem that did not exist. Efficiency is poor, with 280 miles from a large pack. Ford's aggressive price cutting through 2023 and 2024 destroyed residual values for anyone who paid list, and a high voltage battery contactor recall for cars that could lose drive did nothing for its reputation.
