Ferrari Roma Review
2020RomaCar
The most elegant shape Ferrari has drawn this century, ruined daily by its own touch controls.

The Roma was Ferrari trying restraint and the shape is a triumph, clean and long-nosed and free of the vents and winglets that clutter the mid-engined cars. Underneath sits the 3.9 litre twin-turbo V8 in 612 horsepower form, an engine that has won awards repeatedly and delivers its power with a smoothness that suits the brief, driving through an eight-speed dual-clutch shared with the SF90. As a fast continent crosser it is lovely, with a supple ride by Ferrari standards and rear seats that exist for bags.
Then you get in and try to do anything. The steering wheel controls are capacitive touch pads that respond to the wrong input, the engine start is a black touch panel, and the passenger display is a distraction. It is the single most frustrating interior in modern performance cars and Ferrari has since begun reversing it. Running costs are high, though the included maintenance programme helps early. Depreciation is moderate for the marque. Beautiful and infuriating.
