Best Anime of 2000
Ranked by our critic's grades, best first.
InuyashaComfortable, atmospheric, endlessly repetitive, and still one of the best-scored series of its era.Read the review
Hajime no IppoThe best boxing anime made, because it takes the roadwork more seriously than it takes the knockouts.
Vampire Hunter D: BloodlustA gothic chase drawn at a level anime rarely reaches, with a vampire story sad enough to deserve it.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel MonstersAn extended card-game commercial with a genuinely operatic sense of stakes, and it works anyway.
