Sol is the top tier of the 5.6 family, above Terra and Luna, and it is the most token-efficient frontier model anyone currently sells. On the leading independent coding-agent evaluation it posts the best score of any model, edging out Anthropic's most capable release while spending under half the output tokens, finishing in under half the time, and costing roughly a third less. That efficiency is the whole story. At $5 and $30 per million tokens against a context window in the seven figures, it changes what a long agentic coding session actually costs to run, which is a different kind of improvement than a benchmark point.
It is also the strongest cybersecurity model on the market, deliberately tuned for threat modeling, code review, patching and blue-team work, with a hardened variant built on top of it. Where it gives ground is breadth of judgment on genuinely open-ended problems, where the reasoning reads more efficient than deep. For writing and shipping code, though, nothing here is faster or cheaper per finished task, and that alone is worth an A.
