Firefly's proposition is not that it makes the best pictures. It is that Adobe will stand behind the ones it makes. Adobe says the models train on its own stock library and public domain material, reporting has since questioned how complete that account is, and the output still ships with an indemnity, which for a brand putting an image into a paid campaign is worth more than another half step of photorealism.

The integration compounds it: generative fill inside Photoshop, extend inside Premiere, reference images and structure controls that let an art director steer instead of beg, and the newest image model closes a good deal of the gap reviewers complained about a year ago. It is not closed yet. On artistic range, on complex human subjects and on outdoor scenes the comparisons keep landing with the rivals, and the workflow designers describe out loud is to find the look elsewhere and rebuild it here for anything that has to clear legal.

The plan changes hurt too, since the cheaper Creative Cloud tier now meters generative credits tightly enough to interrupt real work. The thinking and coding grades below are formalities for a tool that does neither and claims neither. Judge it on the pictures, the indemnity and the fact that it lives where the work already happens, and it earns its place.
