2024SonyTV
The most natural picture in its class, from the company that cares most about what the director meant.

Sony sells its televisions on processing rather than panels, and the Bravia 8 is the clearest case for that approach. The panel itself is a standard LG-made WOLED, dimmer than Samsung's quantum dot sets and than LG's own G4. What Sony does with it is the point: motion is handled with a subtlety nobody else matches, gradients in dark scenes are clean where rivals show banding, upscaling of broadcast and streaming sources is the best in the industry, and the colour out of the box is closer to reference than any competitor's. Dolby Vision is supported, as is the PlayStation 5 integration that makes it the obvious partner for that console.
The price is the objection. For the same money an S90D is brighter and more vivid, and the Bravia 8 only wins for the viewer who values accuracy over impact, which is a real audience and a smaller one than Sony would like.
