The Bravia 7 II brings Sony's headline 2026 technology, the True RGB LED backlight, down to a far more reachable price. It uses the same principle as the flagship Bravia 9 II, lighting the panel with independently driven red, green and blue LEDs, but with fewer dimming zones and lower peak brightness. The reward is much of that wide, accurate color at a fraction of the cost, paired with Sony's excellent processing.
It is also the broadest range Sony offers, from a 50 inch that suits a bedroom or office to a 98 inch for a home cinema wall. That flexibility, plus Sony's strong motion handling and upscaling, makes it a natural pick for someone who wants a single well rounded set for mixed viewing rather than a reference monitor.
Pricing is the appeal. The 50 inch is 1,599 dollars, the 55 inch is 2,099 dollars, the 65 inch is 2,599 dollars and the 98 inch reaches 8,999 dollars. Because RGB LED is new, first generation processing can occasionally show its seams against the flagship, and as with other Sony sets you should confirm the HDMI 2.1 count for gaming. Even so, this is the most interesting mid range Sony in years, and the clearest sign that RGB backlighting is coming for the mainstream.
