Samsung The Frame Pro (2025) Review

The best picture the Frame has ever had, wrapped around the same argument about paying for furniture.

The Frame Pro answers the long standing complaint about the Frame, which was that a television priced like a flagship carried the picture of a mid tier set. A Mini LED backlight replaces the plain edge lighting, the panel runs at 144Hz rather than 60, and the matte art layer is better than it was, so contrast in a dark room is finally respectable while the thing still reads as a framed print when it is off.
The One Connect box is now wireless, which means a single power cable runs to the wall and every source sits in a cupboard up to ten meters away. That trick has a cost: routing a source through the wireless box adds better than 30 milliseconds of input lag whatever the distance, which matters to exactly the people a 144Hz panel is sold to. A single micro HDMI socket on the back of the panel bypasses the box and gets that time back, at the price of a cable running to the screen.
The dimming is edge driven rather than a full array, so blooming is more visible than the Neo QLED badge implies, and Dolby Vision is absent as it is across Samsung's range. At $2,199 for the 65 inch since April 2025, the QN90F standing beside it in the shop gives a better picture for less. This remains furniture that plays television, and it is now much better television than before.
