QD-OLED's second year arrived at half the flagship's price. This is the set that made the technology mainstream.

This is the year the panel stopped being an experiment. Second-generation QD-OLED lifts peak output past 1,000 nits, fixes most of the near-black clipping that dogged the S95B, and keeps the colour volume advantage intact, so a saturated highlight stays saturated instead of drifting toward white. Samsung then attached the whole 2023 gaming package: 144Hz, four HDMI 2.1 inputs, variable refresh down to 48Hz, sub-10ms lag, and a Game Bar that surfaces all of it without menu diving.

What makes the grade is what it cost. The 65-inch listed at $2,599 and spent most of its life between $1,499 and $1,699, undercutting LG's C3 while measuring brighter and more colourful than it. Two caveats matter. The 83-inch is not QD-OLED at all, it is a white-OLED panel wearing the same model number, so the size you buy determines the display you get. And Dolby Vision is still absent, which costs you nothing on disc and something on streaming. Everything else here is the best ratio of price to picture the category has produced this decade.
