Samsung QN990F Neo QLED 8K Review
2025SamsungTV
Eight thousand pixels wide, wireless, and still waiting for something to watch. The 8K case has not improved.

As hardware this is impressive and slightly absurd. The wireless One Connect box moves every source to a separate unit that talks to the panel over 60GHz radio, so the television hangs on a wall with a power cable and nothing else, and it carries 4K120 without the visible penalty that idea deserves. The Mini LED array is dense, the glare-free coating works as well here as it does on the OLEDs, and the NQ8 Gen3 processor upscales 4K to 8K cleanly enough that the extra pixels are not obviously wasted.
The problem is that they are not obviously used either. There is no meaningful native 8K distribution, at normal seating distance the resolution difference against a good 4K set is not resolvable, and the upscaler occasionally sharpens film grain into something crunchy. Dolby Vision is absent as always. Sixty-five inches of 8K costs $5,499 while the S95F standing next to it in the showroom costs less and looks better on everything anyone actually watches. Buy it for the wireless box and the size range, not for the number on the badge.
