The RGB backlight arrives at a size that fits a house, and the OLED beside it still wins the dark room.

Samsung's Micro RGB sets take the idea Hisense demonstrated on a 116 inch screen and bring it down to sizes that fit an ordinary room. Red, green and blue LEDs smaller than 100 microns sit behind the panel and are driven independently, so color comes from the backlight rather than from filtering white light, and the gain over a Neo QLED shows in saturated highlights: a traffic light or a neon sign keeps its color at brightness levels where a conventional set turns pink.
The R95H runs a native 165Hz panel across four HDMI inputs, accepts the optional wireless One Connect box, and carries Tizen with the usual seven years of updates. It went on sale in April 2026 alongside a cheaper R85H that runs at 144Hz.
It is still an LCD. Black lifts in a dark room, blooming shows around bright objects on a dark field, and the picture washes out from the side, all of which an OLED at this money avoids. Dolby Vision is missing, as always with Samsung. At $3,199 for the 65 inch it sits within a couple of hundred dollars of the S95H, so buy it for a bright room and a big screen, and not for films after dark.
