Roku's first Mini LED TV pairs the simplest smart platform with strong HDR, but its glossy screen and processing trail rivals

The Pro Series sits above the Select and Plus Series that began Roku's own televisions in 2023, and it was the first Roku made set with a Mini LED backlight. It launched in April 2024 at 899.99 dollars for the 55 inch, 1,199.99 dollars for the 65 inch and 1,699.99 dollars for the 75 inch, with a deep shadowbox frame that hangs flush on a wall and an excellent remote.
Critics agree it gets the fundamentals right. Contrast is excellent, HDR highlights are bright, SDR brightness copes with a sunny room, and the Roku interface is the simplest on any TV, with picture settings that switch automatically to suit the content. Gamers get 4K at 120Hz, VRR with FreeSync Premium Pro and very low input lag. The thick cabinet leaves room for bigger side firing speakers, which sound fuller than most TV speakers, if light on bass.
The faults come with its price bracket. Only two of the four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1, the glossy screen catches direct reflections, viewing angles are narrow, and processing struggles with low bitrate streams, where artifacts creep in. Hisense and TCL sell brighter sets with more dimming zones for similar or less money.
It is not the enthusiast's choice, but for a household that wants a big, bright, easy TV that needs little setup and can wait on a soundbar, it is a sound buy, especially on sale.
