2023LGTV
The year OLED stopped apologizing about brightness, delivered in a frame built to hang flat on a wall.

The G3 answers the one complaint OLED could never shake. LG laid a micro lens array over the panel, which redirects light that used to scatter sideways back out toward the viewer, and the result is a set that holds highlights in a lit room without giving up anything that makes OLED worth owning. Blacks are still absolute, color is still accurate straight out of the box, and the gaming provision is still the most complete in the business, with 120Hz across four full bandwidth inputs and input lag as low as any television measured that year.
Critics who had spent a decade telling buyers to draw the curtains stopped having to. Two things keep it short of perfect. The G3 ships with a flush wall mount and no stand at all, so anyone who wants it on furniture pays extra and loses the point of the design, and the price sits far above a C3 that shares most of the picture in a dark room. Sony and Panasonic still edge it on out of the box tone mapping, and the anti reflection layer scatters ambient light rather than absorbing it. As a wall panel in a bright living room, nothing else from 2023 comes close.
