LG C4 OLED Review

2024LGTV

The C-series at its most complete: 144Hz on four inputs, meaningfully brighter, and below $1,500 inside a year.

Three years after the C1 the formula is unchanged and the execution has caught up. The 2024 evo panel with the brightness booster reaches about 1,050 nits on a 10 percent window, roughly a third more than the C3 and finally enough for HDR highlights to read as light rather than as pale grey. Refresh moved to 144Hz across all four HDMI 2.1 inputs with both G-Sync and FreeSync certification and input lag near 9ms, which nobody else still matches port for port.

The Alpha 9 Gen 7 processor cleaned up the smearing on fast pans that used to bother sports viewers, and webOS 24 is tolerable once you accept the advertising on the home row. The size range does quiet work: 42, 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches means the same picture serves a desk and a media room. Reflections in a bright room remain the weakness against the matte Samsungs, and there is no meaningful upgrade here for a C3 owner. It listed at $2,699 for the 65-inch and was under $1,500 within the year. That is the whole argument.
