Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Review

2025SamsungPhone

The best hardware Samsung had built and the least reason to buy it: a new chip, an old battery and an S Pen that lost its Bluetooth.

Judged as a phone, the S25 Ultra is superb. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy was the fastest chip in any Android phone in 2025, and its efficiency gave the unchanged 5000 mAh battery some of the longest screen time the line had recorded. The 6.9-inch panel grew a tenth of an inch by slimming the bezels, Gorilla Armor 2 kept the anti reflective coating on a glass ceramic that shrugged off keys, and the rounded corners on the titanium frame finally made an Ultra comfortable to hold.

One UI 7 shipped here first, with a split notification shade and a Now Bar borrowed openly from Apple, and the seven year support promise stood. Judged as an upgrade, it is thin. The 200 megapixel main, the 3x and the 5x were the S24 Ultra's cameras, and only the ultrawide moved, from 12 to 50 megapixels; the 10 megapixel 3x was by now the weakest lens in the flagship class. Charging stayed at 45W for a fourth year.

The S Pen lost its Bluetooth radio, so Air Actions, the remote shutter and the gesture controls disappeared, a quiet removal Samsung explained by saying few people used them. Galaxy AI grew a Gemini button and a Now Brief that summarised nothing anyone had asked for. At $1,299.99, unchanged, it was still the Android flagship most reviewers recommended in 2025, and the one they told S24 Ultra owners to skip. The parts are an A. The whole earns a B, because a flagship should give you a reason.
