RedMagic 11 Air Review
2026RedMagicPhone
The cheapest phone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite, an active fan and a 7000 mAh battery, and it never pretends to be anything but a gaming phone.

ZTE's Nubia launched the RedMagic 11 Air globally on 30 January 2026 and put it on sale on 11 February at $499 for 12GB and 256GB, $629 for 16GB and 512GB. The chip is the 2024 Snapdragon 8 Elite rather than the Gen 5 in the 11 Pro, but with a 24,000 rpm fan and a vapor chamber behind the transparent back it holds its clocks in a way thin flagships do not.
The 6.85-inch 1216 x 2688 OLED runs at 144Hz with 2592Hz PWM dimming and no punch hole, because the 16MP OmniVision selfie camera sits under the panel; selfies come out painterly as a result. Peak brightness of 1800 nits is ordinary for 2026. The 7000 mAh battery, 1000 mAh more than the 10 Air, charges at 80W, and at 207g and 7.85mm this is the thinnest phone ever built with a fan inside.
The 520Hz capacitive shoulder triggers and the game launcher are the point. The rest is where the money was saved: a 50MP stabilized main camera that is fine and an 8MP ultrawide that is not, IP54, and RedMagic OS 11 on Android 16 with the brand's usual rough software edges and a poor record of Android version upgrades. Reviewers agreed on the one thing that matters: no other phone at $499 games like it.
