Oppo Find X8 Pro Review

The Find X8 Pro arrived in China on 24 October 2024 and went global on 21 November at 1,149 euros in Europe and 1,049 pounds in the UK, about $1,200. It never launched in the US, and the price here is that conversion. Where Xiaomi and Vivo chased sensor size, Oppo built the more balanced phone. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-808 at 1/1.4-inch and f/1.6, and beside it sit two 50MP periscopes, a 73mm f/2.6 for portraits and a 135mm f/4.3 that focuses close enough for telephoto macro, plus a 50MP ultrawide.

The 135mm is the one that surprises: at 6x it holds detail other phones' 5x units drop, though the f/4.3 aperture gives up in dim light. A capacitive Quick Button on the right edge launches the camera and half-presses to focus, and it needs a firm thumb. The Dimensity 9400 trades benchmark blows with Snapdragon 8 Elite and stays cool doing it. The 5910mAh silicon-carbon battery is the best part: fourteen hours of web browsing and eighteen of video in GSMArena's testing, 80W wired charging to full in under an hour, and 50W wireless.

The 6.78-inch 1264x2780 LTPO panel is flat, bright and accurate. The body is 215 grams with Gorilla Glass 7i, an aluminium frame, and both IP68 and IP69, so it shrugs off hot pressure washing. ColorOS 15 on Android 15 is fast and full of things you will uninstall; Oppo promised five Android versions and six years of patches, the longest support in this segment.
