Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 Review

The Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 is the most powerful clamshell foldable you can buy, and it fixes the usual flip phone weakness of a slow chip. Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB of memory, so unlike many flip rivals it does not compromise on speed. Closed, the large 4 inch cover screen runs full apps and widgets, making it genuinely useful without opening the phone. Open, the 7 inch folding panel is bright and fast at 165Hz.

It is also a lovely object. The vegan leather and aluminum build feels premium, the hinge is smooth and the crease is faint. A 4,700mAh battery is large for a flip and gets through a day, helped by 68W charging. For a folding phone, the fundamentals are unusually solid.

The cameras are the compromise. A 50MP main and a 50MP ultrawide take good photos in daylight, but there is no telephoto and low light results trail the best slabs at this price. The IP48 rating covers dust and water resistance, though a folding phone is still more delicate than a normal one. Motorola's near stock software is clean but its update commitment is shorter than Samsung's.

At 1,299 dollars it costs as much as a top slab flagship, which is the price of the folding novelty. If you want a compact phone that slips into any pocket, with a cover screen that actually does the work and power that does not quit, the Razr Ultra is the best flip on the market.
