The Analogue 3D is a modern recreation of the Nintendo 64, built not on software emulation but on an FPGA that Analogue programmed to behave like the original silicon. It shipped on November 18, 2025 at 249.99 and plays real N64 cartridges from any region, outputting up to 4K over HDMI 2.1 with HDR and variable refresh. Four original controller ports sit across the front, and 8BitDo produced a matching wireless pad for anyone without period hardware.
Judged on craft it is superb. This is the most faithful and best looking way to play an N64 cartridge on a modern television, with a purpose built 4K upscaler, low input lag and reference grade construction. For collectors with a shelf of games, nothing else on the market comes close to the fidelity or the finish.
The limits are inherent to the concept. It plays only the N64 library, a finite and aging catalog, and it launched without the openFPGA support that turned Analogue's earlier machines into playgrounds for other systems. At 249.99 it is a luxury aimed at people who already own the carts rather than a broad recommendation. Weighed as a general console it is narrow, but weighed as a preservation instrument for one beloved system it is close to perfect.
