Windfields Golf Course Review
A dependable Durham-area eighteen that earns its grade on repeat play rather than any single postcard hole.

Windfields is the round you reach for when you want golf rather than an event. The course is classic local parkland: tree-lined corridors of reasonable width, a front nine that lets you build a score and a back nine with enough doglegs and cross-slopes to take it apart again, and greens that stay truer than the price point suggests. Nothing about the property is dramatic and nothing about it is careless, which is its own kind of achievement; plenty of courses at this tier are one or the other.
Our rounds there have been consistent in the ways that matter: tee decks level, bunkers raked, pace of play managed, staff pleasant. It is the definition of a B, a course you recommend to a mid-handicap friend without a caveat and without a superlative. This capsule is provisional while we pin down the club's full particulars, but the grade itself is settled; it comes from the golf, and the golf is dependable.
