Trafalgar Golf & Country Club Review
A Robbie Robinson classic in Milton that proves a course does not need length to have teeth.

Trafalgar belongs to the generation of Ontario courses built by people who trusted golfers to think. Robbie Robinson laid it over rolling Halton farmland in 1958, Ian Andrew has since sharpened the bunkering, and the result is a par 71 that gives you room off the tee and then examines everything you do from a hundred and fifty yards in. The greens are the identity: small by modern standards, fast, subtly crowned, and guarded by bunkers that sit tight against the putting surfaces the way mid-century architects liked them.
Miss on the short side here and you learn why the membership putts so well. Sixty-year-old maples and evergreens give every hole its own frame, conditioning is consistently excellent, and the walk is easy. It lacks the dramatic land of the escarpment courses ten minutes west, which caps the scenery, but as a complete, fair, endlessly replayable test it is the best golf in Milton and priced honestly for what it is.
