TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley: Heathlands Review
A heathland course in Caledon that looks like it was lifted from Surrey, and plays like it too.

The Heathlands is the course that put Osprey Valley on the map, and it remains the most distinctive of the three. Carrick built it in the image of the courses south of London, with broad fairways that reward the correct side, bunkers cut into the ground rather than placed on it, fescue and heather where the rough would be, and greens that run firm and fast. It rewards thought over power in a way few Canadian courses do.
Conditioning is excellent, and the facility's investment since becoming a TPC venue shows in every detail. The setting is rolling Caledon countryside with long views and a real sense of space. The green fee is high for public golf and the two sister courses, the Hoot and the Toot, offer different tests for the same money. It is the course to play on the property for a golfer who understands what a heathland course is asking, and a puzzle for one who does not.
