Tam O'Shanter Golf Course Review
The flattest and friendliest of the city courses, which makes it the busiest.

Tam O'Shanter is the course Toronto plays when it wants eighteen holes without drama. The land is flat, the fairways are wide, water comes into play on a handful of holes and nowhere seriously, and a mid handicapper will finish with a score they are pleased with, which is why the tee sheet is full from April to October. The design does what it can with the ground and occasionally more, with a pair of finishing holes that are better than the rest.
Conditioning follows the city pattern of playable greens, slow speeds and rough that varies with the rain. The scenery is suburban parkland, pleasant and unmemorable. The green fee is fair and the pace on a weekend afternoon is the price of the popularity, with five hour rounds common. It is an honest, forgiving, well used public course, and the grade reflects that there is nothing here a golfer will remember a week later.
