Royal Woodbine Golf Club Review
Mimico Creek does the designing and the airport does the soundtrack, and the golf is better than that sounds.

No course in Toronto plays less like its postal code. Royal Woodbine sits in a warehouse district under Pearson's flight path, and then Mimico Creek bends through the property fourteen times and makes an honest, clever golf course out of it. Michael Hurdzan used the water the way older architects used bunkers: as a question. Nearly every hole asks how much of the creek you want to carry or flirt with, and the par-3 11th across the water is one of the most photographed holes in the city for a reason.
At 6,400 yards it is a placement course, and a three-wood player with a plan beats a driver ego every time. Conditioning is solid without being lush, and the jets are constant; you stop hearing them by the fourth hole or you never do. Weekday rates around a hundred dollars are fair for golf this engaged five minutes from the airport. It is nobody's bucket list, and it is never a wasted afternoon.
