Peel Village Golf Course Review
Brampton's nine-hole Thompson-lineage parkland is the best-kept municipal secret in Peel.

Peel Village is the kind of course municipal golf was invented to be. Nine proper holes, not a pitch and putt, wind through a mature Brampton neighbourhood along Etobicoke Creek, under trees that were already big when the course opened in the early sixties. The par 36 loop has real variety: two strong two-shotters along the creek, a short par 4 you can chase in a good wind, and greens with more original contour than most public eighteens in the region.
The city keeps it in genuinely good condition, better than a forty-dollar green fee has any right to expect, and the walk is flat, quick and sociable. Its ceiling is its size; nine holes and modest yardage mean the single-digit player runs out of course on the second lap, and there is no range to speak of. But judged for what it is, a two-hour game you can play after work and bring a beginner to without apology, it does everything right. Brampton is lucky to have it.
