Pebblestone Golf Course Review
Courtice's nine-holer keeps the game simple, cheap and close to home, which is the whole assignment.

Pebblestone has been doing the same job on Pebblestone Road since 1962, and the job is not glamour. The nine holes run back and forth across open, mostly flat Courtice farmland: a couple of sturdy par 4s into the prevailing wind, one reachable par 5 that decides most league matches, and par 3s where the only defence is honest distance. Trees line rather than shape the holes, water barely features, and the strategy mostly amounts to hitting it straight, which for the clientele is exactly right.
This is league and lesson golf, the course where half of Courtice learned to keep score, and it wears the role well. Maintenance is simple but not neglectful; greens are slowish and true enough, fairways are cut, and nobody has ever lost a ball in an untended bunker because the bunkers are few and shallow. Thirty dollars walks you around in two hours. Graded on architecture it is a C and always will be. Graded on usefulness to its town, it is quietly indispensable.
