Lakeview Golf Course Review
A century-old championship layout hiding in plain sight on Dixie Road, still the smartest walk in Mississauga.

Lakeview has hosted the Canadian Open twice, and the bones that earned those championships are all still in the ground. Herbert Strong routed it in 1907 across gently rolling land south of the QEW, and it plays like a museum piece in the best sense: cross bunkers that ask a question off every tee, fairways that tilt just enough to reward the correct side, and small crowned greens that shrug off anything struck without conviction.
At barely 6,200 yards nobody overpowers it, because the course was never about power. The city runs it now, and the municipal reality shows at the edges; tee decks get worn by August and the bunker sand varies, which is what separates the conditioning from the design. None of that survives contact with the experience of paying under ninety dollars to play genuine golden-age architecture inside the GTA. Every golf-mad kid in Mississauga should be raised on this course, and the grade says so.
