Goreway Golf Course Review
One of Ontario's longest nines and one of its worst-kept, which is a genuine shame.

The land is not the problem. Goreway is one of the longest nines in Ontario at 3,623 yards, with a creek winding through it, six ponds and better than forty bunkers, and the routing over gently rolling ground is genuinely competent for a 1991 build. Everything downstream of the routing is where it falls apart. Fairways run thin and patchy through midsummer, tee boxes are scarred and unlevel enough that you hunt for somewhere flat to peg it, the bunkers vary from raked sand to packed dirt hole by hole, and greens clearly designed to receive a mid-iron neither hold nor roll well enough to reward one.
Pace is the other chronic complaint, and on a busy weekend a single nine can drag past two and a half hours. It walks fine and it is cheap, but cheap is not the same as good value when you spend the round playing off bare lies. There is a decent golf course buried under the maintenance backlog.
