Derrydale Golf Course Review
Twelve holes on Derry Road: an odd number that turns out to be a very practical one.

Derrydale's pitch is the number twelve. The first course west of Toronto to offer a twelve-hole round, it split the difference between a nine that ends too soon and an eighteen that eats the whole day, and the format genuinely works; two and a half hours, a real mix of par 3s and short 4s, and a scorecard that still feels like a complete game. The golf itself is entry-level by design. At 2,541 yards and par 40 the driver mostly stays home, the corridors are forgiving, and the few ponds are placed to teach rather than to punish.
Greens are small, flattish and kept at a beginner-friendly crawl. Squeezed between Derry Road traffic and industrial Mississauga, the setting is utilitarian, and the conditioning is functional rather than fussy, which the sub-thirty-dollar rate prices honestly. For new golfers, juniors, and anyone rehearsing a rebuilt swing where nobody is watching, Derrydale is a genuinely useful piece of the city's golf furniture. The grade describes the golf, not the usefulness.
