Banty's Roost Golf & Country Club Review
Twenty-seven forgiving holes let down by patchy turf, uneven tees and five-hour weekends.

Twenty-seven holes over two hundred acres, ponds in play on all three nines, and a layout that has never quite decided what it wants to be. The design is wide and forgiving to the point of being forgettable: generous corridors, few forced carries, and water that sits beside holes far more often than it cuts across them. Nothing here will frighten a mid-handicapper, which is fine as a proposition, but very little will make anyone want a second round either.
Conditioning is what pushes the grade down. Tee boxes vary wildly from one nine to the next, fairways go patchy by midsummer, and green speeds are inconsistent enough that you recalibrate every few holes rather than settling in. Pace is the other chronic issue, with five-hour weekend rounds common and light marshalling. It walks reasonably well over 6,866 yards of gently rolling ground. At fifty-five plus cart there are better-kept courses at the same money within twenty minutes of the gate.
