Angus Glen Golf Club Review
Two Canadian Opens of pedigree and tournament polish, sold at a price that assumes you were watching.

Angus Glen is the GTA's tournament factory: thirty-six holes on a former stud farm in Markham, a clubhouse the size of a conference centre, and a South course that hosted the Canadian Open in 2002 and again, rebuilt, in 2007. The pedigree is real. Doug Carrick's South is big, polished parkland with ribboned bent fairways, sprawling bunker complexes and greens that hold tournament pace all season; the North is friendlier and, quietly, more fun for most handicaps.
Everything is run with corporate precision, from the range to the halfway house. What the place lacks is intimacy. The land is good rather than special, holes blur together in the mid-round, and at peak rates north of a hundred and seventy dollars you are paying championship-venue money for a course you admire more than remember. As an occasion, it delivers every time. As a habit, the value column starts to itch, and that is precisely where the grade lands.
