An immersive sim studio forced into a live service shape, and every seam is visible from orbit.

Arkane made Prey and Dishonored, games defined by systems that interact in ways designers did not script. This is the opposite of that. Enemies stand still, walk into walls, or fail to acknowledge gunfire from three metres away, and the vampire types telegraph so poorly that combat becomes a matter of holding a stake gun and waiting. The open world is two large maps with almost nothing between the marked locations, no meaningful traversal and a fast travel system that admits as much.
Four heroes with ability loadouts suggest a cooperative shooter, but the campaign is balanced around none of them and the loot is generic rarity-tiered weaponry. Thirty frames per second at launch on hardware capable of far more, missing dialogue triggers and enemies spawning inside geometry rounded it out. Somewhere underneath there was a real idea about a town under occupation. Nothing about the shipped product suggests the team was given room to find it.
