Red Dead Redemption 2 is the ceiling of what brute-force craft can achieve. The detail is not trivia; it is rhetoric. Arthur's beard grows, the gang's camp chatter evolves with the story, NPCs remember slights, and the mud, snow, and horse physics ground every scene in consequence. All of it exists to make Arthur Morgan's arc land, and it does: a bad man's ledger slowly forced open, with the honor system letting you argue about how far his redemption goes.

The story grade is an easy S; the epilogue alone restructures how you read the first game. Gameplay takes the honest A: Rockstar's cinematic control scheme is heavy by design, weapon wheels and sticky cover creak, and mission scripting punishes improvisation in a world that begs for it. But the friction is the price of the weight, and the weight is the point. Nothing this expensive has ever been this personal.
