BOOM Tech gives contact real physics for the first time in years, and franchise mode finally gets more than a coat of paint.

The tackling rewrite is the reason to look. BOOM Tech resolves collisions from momentum, mass and hit location rather than selecting an animation from a library, so a linebacker meeting a running back in the hole produces different outcomes depending on pad level and angle, and ball carriers stumble forward for extra yards in ways that look like football. It changes how you play, because a big hit is now a gamble instead of a button.
Franchise gets the most attention in years, with a rebuilt scouting flow using regional scouts, a deeper staff and skill tree layer, and draft classes that behave less like a lottery. Superstar still cannot decide whether it wants to be a career or a story, and the online meta collapses into the same handful of unstoppable concepts within a month. Presentation is competent without being memorable. This version fixed something structural rather than adding a mode nobody asked for, which earns a solid middle grade and not more.
