The prettiest and most inventive Hitman, closing the trilogy with a whodunit, a nightclub, and a vineyard.

Hitman 3 is the entry that experiments. Dartmoor hands 47 a detective's notebook and a manor full of suspects, and playing it straight as a country house mystery is as satisfying as any contract in the series. Berlin drops him into a nightclub with a squad of agents hunting him and marks none of them, inverting every habit two games have trained.
Dubai opens on the outside of the tallest building in the world and knows exactly which film it is quoting. The lighting is a clear step up from the 2018 game, and Chongqing in the rain is the best this engine has ever looked. Two things hold it just short of the level design peak. The Carpathian epilogue trades the sandbox for a corridor, which serves the ending and nothing else, and several maps are built more tightly around their set pieces than around endless repetition, a trade you feel on the fourth or fifth run through them.
The story is competent closure rather than the reason anyone is here. Taken together with the two games it absorbs, this is the most complete stealth package on the market, and it earns the same grade as the rest of the trilogy on its own merits rather than by association.
