Concord Review

Competent in every part and necessary in none, which is how a well made shooter dies inside two weeks.

This is the odd entry on a list of disasters, because Concord is not broken. The shooting is responsive, the sixteen Freegunners control distinctly from one another, the arena maps are laid out by people who understand flanks and choke points, and it looks as expensive as a first party PlayStation release is meant to. Nobody who played it came back reporting that it did not work.
What it never had was a reason to exist. The genre was eight years settled by 2024, the two biggest competitors were free, and this asked forty dollars up front for a crew, a tone and a set of kits that read as assembled from parts everyone had already played. The weekly story cutscenes assumed an attachment the character writing had not earned. That is the entire failure, and it is one of positioning and identity rather than of craft, which is why the axes here look nothing like the rest of this list.
The outcome was total anyway: peak concurrent players in the hundreds, sales halted and servers dark inside two weeks, refunds issued, the studio closed about two months later. It stands as expensive proof that a good version of a thing the market has finished with is not enough, and the people who built it were owed a better answer than the one they got.
